It has been a while since Waves of Rust was playing shows, but we are launching back into it now with some new music (and some of the old stiff). Friday Night March 22nd we are headlining at Skylark. The Show starts with Sundodger going on at 8pm., Pent Up! is at 9 and Waves of Rust is closing out at 10pm (or thereabouts).

Parking can be a challenge but they have a plan for that at Skylark:

It's been a couple months since our last show. We've been working on new music and some recording. Still working on that stuff, but in the meantime, we're getting out of the studio for a night of live music down at Substation. There are four bands playing, the show starts at 8. We go on 3rd at 9:45. Yep, it's a school night, but school (and work) is for chumps. Come out for the Rock and Roll and call in sick Thursday!

We've been quite for a couple months working on some new material, and doing some recording. We're still in the midst of the recording but will be getting out in July to play a show at the High Dive Tuesday July 16th with two other bands: Moose Almighty and Intrinsic Factor.  We go on first so get there early. Saturday the 23rd (that's tomorrow!) we'll be playing down at Sim's Last Chance in a four band lineup. This show starts early and we will be going on 2nd at 8:45. Don't be late, with four bands playing the sets are kinda short. We're only going to give you 30 minutes of Surf-o-Riffic (™) Rock & Roll. Don't blink or you'll miss the wave. TACOMA NEWS!!! We had a great show down at the Valley Tavern in Tacoma last week (Saturday 2/126) with The Drive Through and our friends Western Spyders. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and special thanks to those who caught our act for the first time that night and treated us so kindly.

It's been a few months since we last played live. In that time we've been working on some recording, writing some new material, and generally dealing with the end of the year. Fear not, Waves of Rust will soon be crashing on beaches near you again. In February we'll be playing The Valley Pub in Tacoma on Saturday the 16th, and a week later on February 23rd at Slim's Last Chance in Seattle. 

I have no idea how they manage to make a chili shack on First avenue South sound so good. Maybe it's the Hamm's Beer bear, or maybe it's just the great sound engineers they get working there, but somehow Slim's tends to be the best sounding room in town, and that sound brings out the best performances from the bands who get to play there. 

We've finished recording on a few tracks and two of those (Roostertail, Satellite, & Over the Falls) have been uploaded to the site here. I'll be adding more a soon as the mixing and Mastering is done. For now you can stream them free here, eventually we'll get a collection up for sale on download.
